Should a selection be withdrawn, whereby Tattersalls Rule 4 applies, displayed prices cannot be laid until a new market has been formed.

5.0 SETTLEMENT OF BETS

Bets are settled on the official result as declared immediately following the event subject to any other provision in our rules. Where a result is amended after the official result is declared, for example as a result of a successful appeal, the amendment will be ignored for settlement purposes.

Where the official OFF of an event is not announced, bets will be accepted up to the advertised OFF time. Any bet taken after this may be deemed void, unless we are satisfied that the bet was accepted before the actual OFF. However, for some sporting events, we may allow a grace period during which bets will be accepted provided that there has been no significant development in the event. For example on football matches, we may accept bets up to 5 minutes after kick off provided that no goal has been scored or there has not been some other significant incident, such as a sending off.

Where bets or parts of bets are made void, stakes on singles will be refunded.

Where bets or parts of bets are made void, each void selection on multiple bets will be treated as a non-runner.

Each way accumulative bets will be settled as two distinct bets, i.e. win to win and place to place.

All bets are settled strictly on their merits and no plea of precedence will be accepted.

5.1 DEAD HEATS

When a dead heat occurs for first place, the stake money on the winning selection will be divided by the number of winners and full odds paid on the reduced stake. The remainder of the stake is lost.

When an each way bet involves a dead heat winner, the win part of the bet will be settled as above and the place part will be settled in full, in accordance with the relevant place terms.

When a dead heat results in more than the allocated number of places, then the stakes will be divided and settled at full odds to the place terms. The remainder of the stake is lost.

5.2 TATTERSALLS RULE 4

When a selection is withdrawn prior to the start of an event, remaining selections may be subject to a Rule 4 deduction.

The following table lists the rate of deduction dependent on the price of the withdrawn selection.

10-1 to 14-1 5p in the £

In all cases of more than one withdrawal, the total deduction shall not exceed 90p in the £.

6.0 ANTE POST

Ante-Post - Ante-Post prices are those offered on:

  1. A Horserace prior to 10:30a.m. On the day of the Overnight Declaration Stage. Bets placed at all other times are settled in accordance with Our Day of Race Rules.
  2. A Greyhound Race prior to the completion of the Semi-Finals of a Competition.
  3. Sporting Events as advertised.

Ante-post bets are accepted on the basis of "all in run or not", i.e./ stakes are lost if the selection does not take part, if there was a possibility of it winning at the time the bet was laid.

For Win and place multiple accumulator bets the place part of an each way bet, the fraction odds and number of places relating to each event, are those pertaining on the date of acceptance.

Place only bets and forecast bets are not accepted Ante-post, unless advertised otherwise.

Bets are executed at the price ruling at the time of acceptance. We reserve the right to correct any obvious errors.

All Ante-post selections will be made void if:

  1. The race or event is abandoned.
  2. The race or event is officially declared void.
  3. The conditions or venue of the race or event are altered, after the bet is struck.
  4. A horse is balloted out. In this instance, the liabilities against the horses remaining are reduced at the rate in accordance with Tattersalls Rule 4 depending on the odds currently available on the balloted out selection(s).

Where the same selection is backed to win two or more events in an Ante-post accumulator bet, a special price will apply, irrespective of the individual odds quoted. See Below, Related Contingencies.

7.0 RELATED CONTINGENCIES

Except where advertised, multiple bets are not accepted where the outcome of one part of the bet contributes to the outcome of the other. If taken in error, the stakes will be equally divided where they clash. E.g. a £10 double placed on Team to win match and Team to win 2-0 will be settled as £5 single Team to win match and £5 single Team to win 2-0.

However, where the related parts of the bet are resolved at different times, the bet will be settled as instructed, with the price for the subsequent legs being determined at each individual stage. E.g. a double placed on Team to win semi final at 5/6 and Team to win the trophy outright at 9/4 will be settled as a double on Team to win semi final at 5/6 and Team to win the trophy outright at the revised price after completion of the semi final.

Special related prices may be available on some events. These will be displayed online and on teletext pages.

RIGGING

Where there is evidence of rigging, either in the outcome of the event or the prices of the participants, we reserve the right to withhold payment of winnings. All bets may subsequently be made void.

8.0 TOTE BETTING

General - Tote Bets are currently not accepted on-line. We do however accept Tote Win, Tote Place, Each Way, Exacta, Trifecta, Quadpots, Placepots, Jackpots and Scoop 6 through our Call Centre. Horserace tote bets are accepted for all meetings in the UK where "The Tote" operates the pools. All Tote investments are placed directly into the pools via Tote Direct and as such will be governed by "The Tote" rules.

Pagebet cannot be held liable for failure of any equipment (wherever physically sited) which prevents the placing of bets into the Tote pools via Tote Direct. Pagebet will however honour Tote bets that are unable to be transmitted into Tote Pools up to a Maximum payout to any one client in any one-day's business irrespective of the total stake of £10,000.

Pagebet reserve the right to not accept Tote Bets that are requested within 5 minutes of the scheduled first race time.

8.1 Tote Placepots

Tote Direct are accepted at all UK horse race meetings and certain Foreign meetings where a tote pool operates. To win the placepot Clients must select a placed horse in each of the first six races at the nominated meeting. The Placepot will not include Arab or Charity races that may at times begin a meeting. Selections in races of four or less runners must win. Selections in races of five, six or seven runners must occupy 1st or 2nd place. In races of eight or more runners, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd places and in handicaps of 16 or more runners and any race nominated by the Tote, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th places. Clients can nominate an unnamed favourite in a placepot by stating 'fav'. Where joint favourites are returned, the one with the lowest race card number will become the selection. Should the favourite be withdrawn before coming under orders, the next shortest price runner will become the selection, unless there is more than one, in which case the one with the lowest race card number will become the selection. In the event of no tote dividend being declared, the bet will be settled as a SP place accumulator. In the event of a non-runner it will be replaced by the favourite. Placepot dividends are currently declared to a £1 unit stake.

9.0 HORSE RACING

9.1 MAXIMUM PAYOUTS

The following are the limits which can be won by a single client or syndicate in respect of any one day's business.

  1. Horses racing in all the UK and Ireland £100,000
  2. Horse racing in all other countries £25,000

Where any selections are in a race not covered by a full SIS service (i.e. Shows, Off's and Results)

  1. Horse racing in the UK and Ireland held under the governing body's rules £25,000
  2. Horse racing outside of the above £10,000

Our GENERAL BETTING rules apply (section 2.0) unless superseded by the following.

Bets are accepted for horse race meetings in UK, Ireland, France, Italy, South Africa, USA and important races in other countries only when the results appear in the 'Racing Post'. All meetings will be governed by British Horse Racing Board or its overseas equivalent.

The programme and results appearing in the Racing Post will be taken as correct (palpable errors excepted).

9.2 DISPLAY PRICES

Prices taken must be either asked for or the relevant box ticked. Instances when this hasn't occurred bets will be settled at SP.

We reserve the right to correct any palpable errors in prices laid, transmitted, or published. In such instances, bets will be settled at the correct price at the time the bet was made, or at SP, whichever is the greater.

Place terms on each way bets at displayed prices are governed by the number of starters in the event and not by the number of declared runners at the time the price was taken.

When an Early Price has been taken the value of the Rule 4 will be decided by the price of the withdrawn selection at the time that the bet was placed. See Tattersalls Rule 4.

9.3 ANTE POST

Ante-Post prices are those offered prior to the final declaration stage.

All bets placed after the final declaration stage will be non-runner no bet, Tattersall Rule 4 deductions may then apply.

Unless otherwise stated, ante-post bets are treated as "all in, run or not". Where a horse does not take part in the race, it is treated as a loser, unless the selection has been balloted out in which case the bet will be classed as void and stakes will be returned.

Each way bets are governed by the place terms at the time the bet was accepted.

9.4 PLACE TERMS FOR EACH WAY BETS

Place terms for each way bets are calculated as follows:

Number of Runners Place Fraction Number of Places Paid
  All Races
2-4 Win Only 1
5-7 1/4 2
8 or more 1/5 3
  If a Handicap
12-15 1/4 3
16 or more 1/4 4

9.5 WITHDRAWALS

When a horse is withdrawn, before coming under starter's orders, or is deemed by the starter to have taken no part in the race, stakes will be refunded on that selection. Tattersalls Rule 4 will apply with the exception of ante post bets.

When there has been time to form a new market, Tattersalls Rule 4 deductions will only apply to Display Prices taken prior to the formation of the new market.

9.6 DOUBLE ENGAGEMENTS

Where a selection is doubly engaged and the customer requests a specific race time, the selection will be considered a bet for that race only. If the selection runs in the other race it will be treated as a non-runner.

If an 'if absent' is requested for the doubly engaged selection, this will be taken as timing the bet for the race that both are engaged.

Where two selections, one of which is doubly engaged, are included in an accumulator of multiple bets, but run in the same race, then the selection which is doubly engaged will be automatically timed for the race in which the entries do not clash.

9.7 FAVOURITES AND UN-NAMED SELECTIONS

SP bets will be accepted, win only, first and second favourites in horse racing, and greyhound racing, and the place part of any such bet accepted in error will be void. Display prices are not accepted on un named favourites.

The favourite is the horse quoted in the official starting price returns at the shortest price, the second favourite is the horse quoted at the next shortest price, and so on.

Where two horses are quoted at the same price and that price is shorter than those quoted for any others then those two are equal first favourite and equal second favourite. If joint or co favourites are selected, the stake will be divided equally between them and settled at the full price.

When a favourite is withdrawn before coming under Starter's orders and there is not enough time for a new market to be formed, bets on the un-named favourite will be void.

9.8 FORECAST AND TRICAST BETTING

Forecast bets are only accepted in races with three or more runners.

If only one runner finishes, and that runner is the first selection within the selected forecast, that bet will be settled as an SP single. All other forecast bets in the race will be settled as losers.

Forecasts are accepted as singles, doubles and trebles but not as accumulators. Any accumulators taken in error will be settled as trebles.

Tricast bets are only accepted on races where an official tricast dividend is declared, where a tricast bet has been taken in error as no tricast dividend is declared, the bet will be treated as a straight forecast on the first two selections.

Where a tricast contains a non-runner, the total stake will be invested in a straight forecast on the remaining selections in the requested order.

Where a tricast is a full cover combination and contains a non-runner, the total stake will be equally divided as a reversed forecast on the remaining two selections.

Where a tricast or full cover combination contains two non-runners, the total stake will be invested in a win single at SP on the remaining selection.

Tricast bets are accepted a singles only, no multiples. Any multiple bets taken in error will be settled as singles with the stake split between all Tricasts selected.

9.9 ANY TO COME

When placing 'any to come' or 'if cash' bets, it must be stated clearly from which selections the 'any to come' is to be taken. Cash in hand from one selection cannot go on to the same selection or any selection in the same race.

Bets will be executed in strict rotation until the stake plus winnings are exhausted. Should there be insufficient cash in hand to cover all selections, the bet will be settled so far as the cash in hand will allow, in accordance with instructions stated at the time of bet.

Where an each way bet cannot be fully covered, the win part will be given precedence.

The OFF Time of the 'any to come' part of the bet must follow the original selection and cannot precede it. Where an 'any to come' selection does precede the original bet the 'any to come' selection will be void.

Any to come bets are not accepted Ante Post or in Football Bets.

10.0 IF LOSE/IF WIN/STOP AT A WINNER

Bets are accepted only for selections in different races.

'If lose' (i.e. the selection does not win or dead heat for first place) will be read as 'if lose' or non runner.

'If win' (i.e. the selection wins or dead heats for first place) will be read as 'if win' or non runner.

Selections will be settled in the order stated at the time of bet.

Each way stop at a winner bets continue until one of the selections either occupies or dead heats for first place.

10.1 WALKOVERS

These count as races, but any horse involved in a walkover will be treated as a non-runner.

10.2 POSTPONEMENTS

If a race is postponed to another day, with the exception of ante-post bets, all selections will be made void, unless announced otherwise for exceptional cases such as the Grand National.

If races are set back in time because of weather conditions, the settling of all bets for the meeting will be governed by the original advertised race times.

10.3 RE-RUN RACES

In the event of a false start etc. resulting in a race being re-run, 'Under Starters Orders' is negated and stakes will be refunded on horses not taking part in the re-run, with returns on the remaining runners subject to Tattersalls Rule 4. The number of runners taking part in the re-run governs place terms.

10.4 AGGREGATE FAVOURITE BETTING

This bet allows customers to have a fixed odds bet on the performance of favourites at a particular meeting.

The following scoring system applies to the finishing positions of the favourite:

First Place 25 Points
Second Place 10 Points
Third Place 5 Points

Where there are joint or co. favourites, the selection will be the horse with the lowest card number.

In the event of a dead heat, the points for each place will be added and divided by the number of selections involved in the dead heat.

If one race is abandoned or made void, then 10 points will be awarded for the race.

If two or more races are made void or abandoned, all bets will be made void.

10.5 Aggregate Distance Betting

This bet allows customers to have a fixed odds bet on the aggregate winning distances at a particular meeting.

The maximum distance for a single race is 12 lengths on the Flat and 30 lengths for National Hunt (including National Hunt flat races).

The following table shows the calculation for winning distances:

Short Head 0.10 Lengths
Head 0.20 Lengths
Neck 0.30 Lengths
Half Lengths 0.50 Lengths
1 Lengths 1.00 Length, etc.

Should a horse finish alone, the maximum distance will apply.

If one race is abandoned or made void, 2 lengths will be awarded to a flat race and 6 to a National Hunt race.

If two or races are made void or abandoned, all bets will be made void.

10.6 Match Betting

This bet allows a customer to have a match bet on horses in the same race. The winner is the horse that achieves the highest finishing position.
Where neither horse manages to complete the course, all bets are void.

11.0 Foreign Racing

Our GENERAL BETTING and HORSE RACING rules apply unless superseded by the following rules.

Bets are accepted for races abroad where we advertise acceptance.

Bets will be settled at industry Prices unless clearly stated, when no industry Prices are returned, bets will be settled at Pari-Mutuel Tote prices.

Bets on unnamed favourites are only accepted where an Industry SP operates otherwise any taken in error will be void.

11.1 WIN and EACH-WAY FOR FOREIGN POOLS

Horses in the same ownership are generally coupled on the win pool only. In certain countries, e.g. / USA and Belgium, horses are coupled for all pools. The place part of each way bets will be settled in accordance to the returned place dividends. Bets will be settled in accordance to the rules in place at each track.

It must be noted that in the USA, two place pools are in operation, namely the "place 1-2 pool" for 1st and second only and the "show 1-2-3 pool" for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

It is your responsibility to specify which dividend you require when placing your each way bet. If no dividend is specified by you, then we will default your bet to the show 1-2-3 dividend. If no show dividend is declared by the race track, then your each way bet will be defaulted to the place 1-2 dividend. Any selections finishing third in this circumstance will be made losers. Coupled horses are treated as one runner for win, place and show dividends

11.2 FORECASTS

Straight or Dual forecasts are accepted depending on the type of forecast in operation, in that country.

12.0 GREYHOUNDS

12.1 The following are the limits that can be won by a single client or syndicate in respect of any one day's business:

Early Prices are offered on Finals of competitions, after the completion of the Semi-final stage, and other featured events. Bets placed prior to the completion of the Semi-finals of a competition are covered by the Ante-post Rules. All Early Prices offered on Greyhound Racing are Non Runner-No Bet and in the event of any Non Runners all bets placed at Early Prices will revert to Starting Price.

Place only bets are not accepted

We do not accept bets on Greyhound Racing at Tote Odds.

Where a reserve runs in a race, bets accepted for trap numbers will stand unless "reserves not to count" is stipulated.

Where a race is re-run all bets stand, however where a Board Price has been taken, settlement will be at Starting Price. Should a race be declared Void and not re-run, all selections will be treated as non-runners.

12.3 Forecasts, forecast doubles and forecast trebles will be settled according to the Computer Straight Forecast at BAGS/BEGS meetings. A forecast that includes a non-runner will become a Void bet when 2 selections have been chosen.

In the event of no Tricast being declared selections for 1st and 2nd place will be settled as Computer Straight Forecasts in the order written with the third selection disregarded. Tricasts are accepted for singles only.

12.5 Trap Challenge - To win the customer must select the trap number which wins most races at the nominated meeting or combined meetings, irrespective of non runners, vacant traps and void races. If more than one trap number has won most races then dead heat rules apply. In races involving a dead heat for first place, the traps concerned will be deemed to have won half a race each. Should a meeting be abandoned before six races have been completed then all bets will be deemed void. When combined prices are available, six races at each meeting must be completed, otherwise all bets will be deemed void. Bets on meetings abandoned after six races have been completed, will be settled on the trap which has won most races at the time of abandonment.

12.6 Greyhound Placer - The Placer operates on the first six and last six races at all BAGS/BEGS meetings. To win Greyhound Placer requires the selection of a placed greyhound (as defined by our Each Way terms) in all six races concerned. Bets are accepted for trap numbers or un-named favourites. In the event of a Non Runner where a trap number is nominated the selection is transferred to the reserve in that trap. Should a bet contain a non-runner that is not replaced by a reserve, or a named selection does not run the Favourite will be substituted. Where there are joint favourites, the joint favourite with the lowest trap number will be taken. The Greyhound Placer operates at BAGS/BEGS meetings. If no SP's are returned in a race it will be deemed Void. Where a void race is re-run it counts as the original race time and selections will stand for the re-run race. Where a void race is not re-run that day the returns will be declared on the remaining races. In the event of a Dead-Heat, where an extra place is created, all placed selections will be treated equally irrespective of whether they are involved in the dead heat or not. Placer doubles and upward are not accepted.

12.7 RE-RUN RACES

When a race is declared void and is re run, all bets will stand for the greyhounds which take part in the re run, but singIe bets may be cancelled by mutual agreement before the re run starts. The prices returned on the re run will rule settlement, and display prices from the original race will not be valid.

A re run race is taken as in the order it was originally placed on the programme and no notice is taken of the time of the re run.

When a race is declared void and is not re run, all bets on that race will be void and will not count for any additional reserve race.
